This is Lucas, founder and president of Lucas Project Management Consulting company. I did my Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Anna University, India and a Master’s degree in Information Systems Management from Strayer University, U.S.A. I also completed my PhD. in Organization Management from Capella University, U.S.A. I hold PMP® certification and Quality Manager Certification from American Society for Quality. I have more than 12 years of project management experience, and currently working as a Project Manager for a major telecommunication company.

There is an interesting reason, why I started this company. Recently, one day, I was talking to one of my colleague, who wanted to get his PMP® certification. He told me that his busy work schedule did not allow him to attend any course to learn for the PMP® certification. He was also very confused in choosing the right material to learn on his own. As we all know, too much information is as good as too little information. It will not help you achieve anything, because you spent most of your time trying to figure out which one to select. So, I gave him the notes which I prepared and used for my PMP® exam. I created my own question bank, based on my real time project experiences. He used them in his leisure time, and took his PMP® certification. You know what; he passed the certification in his first attempt. I had couple of similar incidents which made me to think and start this online course to help those enthusiastic persons who are looking for the right information to advance their career. This could help not only managers who wanted to become a certified PM but also to develop future project managers.

This course is intended to cover the subject matter of both PMP® and CAPM® exams. If you practice project management using the methodology outlined in this course and the Project Management Institute’s Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge, I’m sure you will become a good project manager. My philosophy is that any one should be able to pass the PMP®/CAPM® exams, if they have an extremely good understanding of project management. In this course I have tried to explain and provide that kind of details to understand the nature of project management, how all of the tools and techniques relate to one another, and how it all goes together to make a unified methodology that can be used to successfully manage projects.

The course consists of 12 segments, covering all the material in the exams. Your license to this course is valid of 60 days. This course, when conducted in a classroom, is 60 hours long, presented in 12 5-hour segments. Each segment begins with a presentation and discussion, and concludes with a series of questions designed to reinforce the material covered earlier. I hope that this course will help you prepare for PMP®/CAPM® certifications and that you will embark on a long and prosperous career in project management.
